RADIOLOGISTS

Our unit is supported by 17 consultant radiologists, including three interventional neuroradiologists, with a combination of NHS Lothian and University of Edinburgh appointments. We also provide core and specialist training for the South East Scotland radiology training programme, with further dedicated INR fellowship positions, and a new HN/DNR post-CCT fellowship (from 2024).

Brain Scan

RADIOGRAPHERS

DCN Radiology has a growing group of specialist neuro-radiographers, with training and expertise in CT, MRI, and angiographic procedures as well as supporting perioperative imaging. We also have imaging provided by staff in University of Edinburgh imaging sites.

We are developing our acute thrombectomy services, MRI perfusion imaging protocols, as well as developing the only Scottish intraoperative MRI suite.

NURSES

Our nursing staff, led by Clinical Nurse Specialist Karen Briggs, support the neurointerventional team as well as other CT guided biopsy or treatment procedures. They are also central to the regional aneurysm follow up service.
